Check first if your device is working properly.
Right click on My Computer and go to Properties then Hardware\Device Manager

Let us know what you see there about the modem.

OK, just delete it from the list and restart your computer.
Windows will detect the modem and "Fond New hardware" wizard will be started automatically.
Follow on screen instructions and insert the original driver cd that comes with hardware, when it asks.
I hope, every thing will go fine this time.

here's the new situation ,I uninstall the "pci simple communication controller" shut down n remove the modem n thn fixed it again.Inserted the cd n start the pc thn my pc detected the modem , thn I uninstalled the modem n restarted pc n instal driver by cd then a msg came that "tht softv92 data fax modem is installed n ready for use".
BUT BUT whn i cnt the phnl ine the pc failed to cnct the net with the msg tht " remote comp, didnt respond......."
plz say wats the reason is my modem espired or there is any other reason plz tell
