salam, jee meray pass MSI board wala PC hai 2.8 GHz processor hai,1.37 GB RAM hai aur 21'' monitor kai saath connected hai... mein jab computer ON karta hoon tu monitor normally kaam karta hai lekinjab meinkoi torrent download karta hoon aur monitor band karke phir se ON karta hoon tu computer khud hi restart hojata hai.. matlab jab bhi monitor OFF karke ON karta hoon tu restart hojata hai please koi tareeqa batein jis se yeh problem khatam hosakay..

Bhai ap ne kisi aur monitor ke saath try kiya?
Kya yeh prob sab monitors ke saath hota hai?ya sirf ap ke walay ke saath?

Whenever I turn off my computer monitor (physically press the button), my computer immediately reboots. I have had this computer for about a year and a half, never happened before until I reinstalled windows a month ago. It drove me so crazy that after a week I reinstalled and the problem persists. I have a GeForce 8500 GT video card and a Acer x193w monitor that shows up as just "Plug and Play Monitor" in device manager. Anyone encountered a problem like this before? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions, I ended up making a few changes that ultimately fixed the problem.

I noticed that one of my hard drives was not always showing up when I turned on my computer. I opened up the case and found the power cord to the disk was loose which most definitely was a issue. I secured it and everything started working better.

I also bought a battery backup and plugged my computer / monitor into it (before I realized the power cord was loose). I live in a apartment and I believe the power is a little flakey, though I don't think this had anything to do with the problem at hand.

mera b kuch aysa he problem hai but thora sa different hai.... mairay system mein virus tha mainay avast antivirus kiya ab jaysay he avast ram mein load hota hai system restart ho jaata hai.. mainay koshish ke k safe mod mein chala loon system but naheen chal raha.... or na he itna time milta hai k control panel mein jaa k avast ko remove karoon.... koi solution hai iska yaa phir finaly windows he refresh kar loon.......
