The MySQL database system, available from http://www.mysql.com/

PHP with MySQL support enabled. Available from http://www.php.net/
The time sheet system was developed using PHP version 4.3.7
it should function with any version of 4, but latest version is recomended
Apache or any other HTTP server that supports PHP.
Apache is available at http://apache.org/.
PHP support must be enabled. Consult the PHP / Apache
documentation for detailed instructions on how to do this.
phpDateTime classes from http://sf.net/projects/phpdatetime/
[bundled]
Smarty available from http://smarty.php.net/
[bundled]
To install the time sheet system follow these steps
1. Download the latest version. If you are reading this file
you have probably already done this.
2. Change directories to your web server document root directory.
For example /home/httpd/html is a common location.
3. Extract the time sheet program files with this command:
tar -xzvf path_to_the_timesheet_tarball
4. You should have a timesheet directory with the timesheet php and HTML
files in it.
5. Read the README, INSTALL and Changelog files and follow any special
instructions in them.
6. If desired, move the directories templates and include out of the web server
root. This will prevent someone from gaining direct access to them
via the web server and gives somewhat greater security.
7. Edit the file include/config.inc.php.
You will need to provide values for these
parameters:
DB_HOST: The computer running the MySQL database system.
The default setting will be fine unless you are
running MySQL on another computer.
DB_USER: The MySQL user with access to the timesheet database.
It would be a good idea to create a specific
MySQL user for this and not use the MySQL superuser
account.
DB_PASS: The password for the above user.
DB_NAME: The default will be fine. If you use a different database
name, change this to your database name.
TEMPLATES_DIR: The directory where the HTML templates are placed.
This should be a complete path.
LANG: Which set of templates to use for the local language.
Currently only English (en) templates are supplied.
$Email_Notify: If this is set to TRUE an email notification will
sent every time someone enters their time into the database.
$notify_address: If email notification is active, this the address mail will be
sent to.
$from_address: The address mail notifications should have as their From: address.
WEEK_START: The day that weeks start on. Should be set to either
0 for Sunday or 1 for Monday.
No other settings should be changed.
8. Create the timesheet database like this
$ mysqladmin create timesheet
Or use another MySQL interface to create the database.
9. Create the database structure like this
$ mysql timesheet < timesheet.sql
10. Populate the weeks table by executing the makeweeks.php
script from a browser http://yourhost/timesheet/scripts/makeweeks.php.
The makeweeks script may then be removed.
11. The system should now be ready to use. Point a browser at this
URL http://yourhost/timesheet/admin.php to access the administrative
interface. Login with the default user 'admin'
and password 'password'. Add companies, jobs and workers as
desired. If you have dificulties logging in, try clearing
the password for the admin user like this:
Connect to the timesheet database with the mysql program.
Use this command: "UPDATE `workers` SET `passwd` = '' WHERE `wname` = 'admin'";
12. To access the timesheet portion of the system go to this URL
http://yourhost/timesheet/
