LAHORE: The Pakistan Olympics Association (POA) on Monday announced that the 32nd National Games would be held in Lahore from October 16 to 22 to be organised by the Punjab Olympic Association. A meeting of POA Sports Commission and representatives of the participating units of the National Games was held at the Olympic House here under the chairmanship of Syed Aqil Shah. “The Punjab Olympic Association will confirm the holding of the National Games by September 5 and the first meeting for the Games will be convened on September 10 to work out the technical details and modalities,” said a spokesman for the POA.
Men and women athletes from Punjab, KPK, Sindh, Balochistan, Islamabad, FATA, Pakistan Army, Pakistan Navy, Pakistan Air Force, Pakistan WAPDA, Pakistan Railways, Pakistan Police and Higher Education Commission will compete in 27 disciplines. The disciplines are athletics, baseball, bodybuilding, boxing, football, gymnastics, handball, hockey, ju-jitsu, kabaddi, karate, netball, shooting, rowing, rugby, sailing, softball, squash, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo, tennis, tug of war, volleyball, weightlifting, wrestling and wushu.
