I used s 2 before and did lot rom flashing official and unofficial.
Your best bet are xda and youtube.
On youtube you will find many videos on how to upgrade to jelly bean.its very easy.
Just make sure what ever you just according to your model.there is other variants of s2 also.you model is international variant.
Xda have dedicated forums for s2. Just search for samsung galaxy s 2 xda you will find it.

Inform him more about.there is official samsung lollipop rom available on sammobile.
