Burning an MP3 CD with Nero






Choose category Audio (the note symbol) and then Make an MP3 CD (pictured above).



On the right border click the top button "Add" which will open a window to navigate through your computer to find the files you want to include on the MP3 CD.



Highlight the top track listed and hold down the Shift key and then click on the last track on the list to select them all. Click Finished when you're done. You can go back and select more tracks from other folders.

nero will analyze each file as it adds it to the list. You will notice the total file size of all tracks that have been added increases in the bar along the bottom. Once you have finished selecting the tracks you want to burn to CD, hit the flaming Nero button on the bottom row. That will switch you over to the Nero Burning rom application.



The application shows four columns. From left to right they are, the CD you are burning to, the files that will be burned to it, folder navigation and file navigation. As you click on the folder navigation, the files under that folder will be displayed to the right. The bar along the bottom, as with the previous application, shows how much space on the disc the selected files will take up. When you switch from the MP3 file selection application to the Nero Burning rom, the files you selected will already be in the second column.



Next simply light the match... or that is, hit the icon of the CD with a lit match next to it along the top tool bar to start burning the CD. Unless you have already tried to burn the CD and you ran into a problem, you shouldn't need to change anything from the defaults. Click burn and let it all do it's stuff. In this screen shot I have deliberately only selected that one album ripped to MP3 earlier, to demonstrate just how many MP3s you can fit onto one average sized recordable CD. Along the bottom you can see a ruler like gauge that shows that the whole album takes up around 80MB of the 700MB CD. So think about it. You can fit 8-9 average albums on your average sized CD in MP3 format!
