Cross Racing Championship 2005 RIP [302 MB]

Cross Racing Championship 2005 is a race simulator developed by Hungarian studio Invictus Games, who were also responsible for 1nsane (published back in 2000 by Codemasters).

CRC 2005 is billed as the most accurate re-creation of real-life Autocross, Rally Cross, Off-Road, Dirt track, Rallying, Road Racing and Circuit Racing seen to date. The game allows the player to experience the thrills of high-speed on and off road racing across vast open terrains. The player can contest over 65 races across six distinct environments, ranging from icy mountainous regions and lush countryside to parched desert areas and beaches.

Sonic Adventure DX: Director's Cut RIP [174 MB]

Europe-only PC port of Sonic Adventure. Taking place on planet Earth, the evil Dr. Robotnik has returned. He's eager to begin his plans for world domination by creating a twisted Utopian vision of Robotnikland. He has a scheme to use the seven Chaos Emeralds to empower the Chaos monster, which grows each time it consumes one of these magical Emeralds. Sonic becomes entangled in this sinister plot as our Hero must enlist the help of his friends to foil Robotnik's every move. Sonic Adventure DX features six playable characters to choose from, each with their own skills and abilities. There are 50 massive levels, with bonus round bosses and mini-games. To unlock the mini-games you must either collect all the emblems by completing each main game stage with each character or by completing all 60 missions in the new Mission Mode.

It's a clever way of giving you a warm up, keeping you immersed in the game, and best of all, teaching you the layout of each city.

Racing is fun, fast, and furious. This isn't a simulation, it's an arcade-style racer--but the physics system is internally consistent so it feels more "realistic" than it actually is. Rockstar has put a premium on keeping you in control, keeping the thrill-factor high, and giving you a heart stopping sense of speed. The graphics are fantastic and the cities are incredibly detailed. As a counter-point, the voice acting is just plain awful.

Midnight Club II offers a wide range of game modes ensuring it will be playable for a long time to come: career, mission, and a mode that lets you just jump into a race. Multiplayer is possible in hotseat mode, but it also supports Internet play. Internet lag is bad over dial-up modem (PS2), but broadband players (Xbox Live or PS2) will find the game silky smooth. All of this makes Midnight Club II a great addition to any videogame racing fan's library, but a must for online fans.
