extornal hard drive

hello my friends. i am in in big trouble.so plz help me. i have 80 gig extornal drive.on that drive i have many impotant documents,movies and collection of songs. so that hard drive only for my entertainment.when i want to watch movie. i connect with that via usb and then i can watch my movie.or listen my songs.but few days before when i connect with pc, few minutes screen was freeze i thought that my extornal hard drive is almost full. so may be pc is reading so taking time. but afater 5 minute . when pc start to work. when i click the icon (my computer/drive H) its message come drive h is not format, so plz format it.but its give caution that if u format it your all data will remove.i dont want to finish my all data.because there is my very important documents.and movies.so plz help me that how i save my data my all documents and movies.and plz tell me why its showing that its not format.so plz plz plz help me i am in big trouble.thankyou

ok friend you do one thing that change ur external hd drives cover mean the cover which give,s power supply and then try it will work

if it dosn,t then u simple format ur disk and then recover it
