How often do you think about trust in terms of your web site? You think about the content you put on it, the look and feel, the quality of the messaging. But if visitors to your web site don't trust you, they won't become your customers.

Below are nine guidelines that give your customer confidence:

1. Make it easy to verify the accuracy of the information on your site.
2. Show that there's a real organization behind your site.
3. Highlight the expertise in your organization and in the content and services you provide.
4. Show that honest and trustworthy people stand behind your site.
5. Make it easy to contact you by putting your phone number and email address on your web site.
6. Design your site so it looks professional (or is appropriate for your purpose).
7. Make your site easy to use - and useful. It should be easy for your web site visitors to find content and information on your web site.
8. Update your site's content often (at least show it's been reviewed recently).
9. Avoid errors of all types like spelling mistakes, broken links etc, no matter how small they seem.
