i have heard about defence allowance equal to basic pay for sps is it true

No its still on 50% of basic pay
all the remaining conditions are same as BPS letter just the scale table is different (SPS).
all the allowences are ceased

this fifty % is 2010 adhoc relef or
some new all0wance

Default How to Claculate pension
7/10 x no of years of service/30 x last drawn basic pay = gross pension


gross pension x 0.35 = commutation

gross pension - commutation = net pension

commutation x 12 x 12.3916= total amount of commutation

this is for pensioners retired on superannuation of age of 60 years.
