it's always wise to opt Microsoft Outlook as your email client. if you're using MS Outlook 2007 & Above then it will automatically configure it self while you only have to give display name, email address and password.

for MS Outlook 2003 and low versions please note the settings:
Display Name: Your Name
Email: Your Email Address
Incoming Mail Server (POP3): pop.gmail.com
Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): smtp.gmail.com
Additional Settings you need to manually configure can be found under More Settings
Under Outgoing Server TAB check My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication with Use same settings as my incoming mail server.
Under Advanced TAB use following ports for POP3 and SMTP;
POP3 =995
SMTP =587
Encryption Type =TLS

Bhai Jaan... Pehlay tau aapko ye pata hona chahiye k aap email-client konsa use kerna chah rahay hain...

Janab, aap Outlook Express use kerna chaah rahay hain or aap clearly issko mention hi nahi ker rahay. Nichay di gai settings MS Office ke saath jo MS Outlook hay uss ke liye hain.

Outlook Express ke liye settings same hain, common sense use ki jay tau problem nahi ho gi. Haan albattah agar aap ke paas time na ho tau or baat hay.

Outlook Express ke liye settings ye hon gi:

Open Outlook Express
Under Tools Menu Select Accounts
Click Add Button and Select Mail
Enter your Display Name and Click Next
Enter your Gmail Email Address and Click Next
Enter pop.gmail.com in Incoming Mail POP3 Box
Enter smtp.gmail.com in Outgoing Mail SMTP Box and Click Next
Now, you'll see your Account ID written, Just Type your Email Password and Click Next
Finish the Wizard.

Your Account has been Added but yet need one more Configuration. To do so, do the following:
Tools Menu >> Accounts
Under Mail Tab >> Select your Configured Account being shown as pop.gmail.com and Open Properties
Under Advanced Tab >> Check the Option "This server requires a secure connection (SSL) for both SMTP and POP3
Change the SMTP Port from 25 to 587
Make sure that POP3 Port is 995
Also, if you want your emails to remain on gmail as well then from below select the option "Leave a copy on server".

That's it.... You're done...

Lakin ek masla yeh hei k ko jo emails Outlook mein aa jeyein gi woh emails gmail se khatam hoon jayein gi.

Selecting Leave a Copy on Server will let Your Emails remain in Gmail... (See the Last Point)
