i have a problem plz help me

i have developed a database for a school which contains students of different categories . Each one of them is assigned a registration number like
civil c-1,c-2 ,employ e-1,e-2 ......etc i now i want to sort these numbers in my reports ,quries . I have assiged text data type and now i want to sort my data
in such a way that c-1 comes first c-2,c-3 .....Please tell me what to do is it possible to do so .

you do this work on access too left side colems.
1. right click on these colems and chose sort options here with ur choice.
