you can but u need to setup boot.ini once again
simple first start windows 98 setup over windows xp
after completing installation of win 98 insert windows xp cd in your cd rom and run windows xp setup
in setup select recovery console
it will show u which windows you are going to correct
select your window xp and wait upto dos mode comes upto your windows location
inshahallah it will work if not you can run bootcfg to correct the all boot problemin recovery console
