    Default LAN probelm kindly help me

    I have desktop connected via motrolla modem with worldcall boradband connection, I want to connect antoher 2 PCs so i use 5 Ports switch b/w modem to PC. But the problem is that my desktop LAN connection shows messege "Network Cable unplug" although other 2 PCs connected properly. Jab main wohi cable directly modem say desktop main connect karta hun to LAN connection shows connected laiken jab switch say connect karta hun to messege shows network cable unplug jabkay other two PCs switch k through bhi connect ho rahay hain plz help me....

    Thanx for your prmpt reply....The article wich is referred you shows the topologies of Networking, I think i have different problem, Sir mera modem jo k motrolla hai wo connected hai ek coaxial cable say (ISP worldcall) phir main usay further connect kar raha hun Ethernet straight cable say switch k saath then switch say main 3 PCs ko connect kar raha hun straight cable k saath 2 PCs properly connect ho rahay hain jab k 3rd PC main messege aa raha hai k "Network Cable Unpluged" LAN card or cable bhi sahi hai kion k main wohi cable ager direct us PC say modem main lagata hun without switch to wo connect ho jata hai switch say connect nahin nahi ho rhaa jab k baqi 2 PCs switch say bhi connect ho rahay hain....

    first just make sure that all the three computer can see one another on LAn, if the pc 3 says network cable unpluged then its workgroup name is not same as other two computer or ip address is not in the range.
    and it will help to dig out the problem if you could tell us what ip addresses r u using for your lan.

    and by the way that articles is not on topologies, it shows how can you share your brandband connection.

    Thanks for your reply...
    Just 2 computer see one another but the 3rd one says network cable unpluged the IP addresses of all three systems has same pool i.e

    PC 1: 192.168.1.2
    PC 2: 192.168.1.3
    PC 3: 192.168.1.4

    where the IP address of of DSL Modem is 192.168.1.1

    Please try this and reply me the result, also if you get any error message.

    Steps:

    1) Backup the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\4D36E972-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318

    2) Delete the above mentioned key

    3) Restart the computer

    4) Remove all the devices with exclamation mark from device manager.

    5) Run regsvr32 netcfgx.dll, Click Ok for the file succeeded window.

    6) Restart the computer.

    7) Restore the key that is backed up
