why is my system running slow ?????

processor: 2.5giga core 45nm

ddr 1gb kingston

pci xpress card gforce 8500gt 1gb ddr2 450m

sound card creative 5.1 live 24 bit

rom asus super combo

rom2 philips super combo

power supply 450w asus

casing thermal thailand

hard disk 160gb with 5 partition

window xp service pack 2

is configration sistem hai yeh boot bohot slow kerta hai or is performance bhi bohot kharab hai or bhot slow hai. aap mujhe bataiye ke meray pc main kia karabi ho sakti hai????

Salam,

some things that I would have done to improve my computer's speed are

1) Start>run>type "msconfig"(without quotes)> go to startup tab> uncheck all the programs that you don't need to run at startup such as printer, adobe, office etc. You can still run them whenever you need but this time they will run on your order not by themselves

2) I would check for antiviruses, adwares, spyware.

3) Move pictures, movies, songs, and documents in other partitions where system files are not located. (Too much load on system partition makes it slower)

4) increase your paging file. It Depend on your system partition size. 4GB to 8GB should be good.
to increase it
right click My Computer>click properties>Advance tab>under performance click settings>again click on Advanced tab>under Virtual memory click Change>If Custom size not selected then select it and put from the sizes mentioned above. you can go higher or lower, totally upto you. (Paging file store your files temporarily and then open it up right away instead of searching it and then opening it)

5)use CCleaner software to clean up. just type in google and you will get it easily

6) 1GB memory for XP is good but if you can then increase the memory.

These are just the basics one but you can also check on internet about registry tweaks and a lot of other tricks

Bhai ho sakta hai kai aap kai system main koi spyware ya virus agaya ho. Apni temporary files ko delete kar kai dekho. Main Aik chota sa software attach kar raha hoon yeh windows ki faltu Temp Files ko delete kardaita hain. Isay Try Karo Shayad farq par jayay. Choti si application hai 46 Kb ki. download karnay main bhi time nahin lagay ga
