    Ik pashemaan si hasrat se mujhe sochta hay
    Ab wohi shahir muhabat se mujhe sochta hay

    Jisne socha he na tha hijir ka mumkin hona
    Kukh me doobi hoe hairat se mujhe sochta hay

    Garche ab tark marasim ko bahut dair hoe
    Ab bhe wo meri ijazat se mujhe sochta hay

    Kitna khush fahim wo shakhs k har mosam main
    Ik naey rukh naee soorat se mujhe sochta hay
